Tim Cook Changes Twitter Handle to ‘Tim Apple’ After Donald Trump Called Him That

0

Donald Trump has referred to some individuals in direct reference to the company they represent or lead.

This week, for instance, the president of the United States called Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, “Tim Apple”. As one might imagine that quickly spread over the internet. If you didn’t catch it the first time, or one of the thousands of times in syndication, here it is again:

This is not the first time that something like this has happened. Back in March of last year, Trump was speaking about Merillyn Hewson, the chief executive officer of Lockheed Martin. While directly referencing Hewson, Trump called her “Merillyn Lockheed”. Here’s that one:

Of course, as many have pointed out, Trump does whatever he wants when it comes to names — sometimes not using them at all just to try and get a dig in there:

So sorry to hear the news about Jeff Bozo being taken down by a competitor whose reporting, I understand, is far more accurate than the reporting in his lobbyist newspaper, the Amazon Washington Post. Hopefully the paper will soon be placed in better & more responsible hands!

So, how does Apple’s CEO feel about it? Well, he’s taking it all in jest it looks like. Cook has changed his Twitter handle to “Tim ”, using the logo of the company as his last name. This is obviously a direct response to Trump’s whatever-it-was, and it’s also pretty funny. You can see the change in the image at the top of this article.

Nothing much else to report on here. Cook simply took a funny moment and ran with it. It’s good to see he has a sense of humor!
